1989 is an electronic-pop band, born in 2006 in Buenos Aires. After a first period of low-profile and profound lock-up in the rehearsal room defining their identity, 1989 goes out to the underworld in which its been playing for the last years. Today, with Juan Becu on vocals, Luciano Poggio set on the keyboards, Camilo Parisi on lead guitar, Alex Wainschten on bass and Joaquin Bachrach on drums, they are set on their unique sound and moving forward to new horizons. All in all, a group of friends impregnated by their time and reading into it from new musical perspectives with the aim of shaping pop-rock, electronic and actual, together with the 80s new wave, the grunge spirit from the 90s X Generation and the electronic beat that is latent in the organic digital era we live in. After a first namesake album which they launched independently in 2011, last year 1989 recorded its second album "Jerarquia y Dogma" at the Babasonico's Sound Studio and under the productive management of Gustavo Iglesias. Today, as they live through their best days and look forward to making themselves heard, they present themselves in the Buenos Aires nightscene with songs that inspire, that entice dancing and a personal journey through into a most particular musical range. Friday 9th.
